Oak Hollow Lake - Sailing Skills


REMINDER


WHAT: Sailing Outing –

WHERE: Oak Hollow Lake – High Point >>CLICK HERE for Directions to the Oak Hollow Marina<<  Due to the “iffy” weather forecast for this Saturday, we will be nearby at Oak Hollow Lake instead of High Rock Lake.

WHEN: SATURDAY – April 21st , 8AM – 3PM(?) We should meet at the Oak Hollow Marina @ 8AM.

WHY: Sailing and having fun. Also, invite friends that you think may enjoy Venturing.

WHAT TO BRING: Water Bottle, Bag Lunch, Sun Screen.

The Crew will be having “hands-on”  /on the water practice on the following (depending on time constraints and wind conditions):

Standing Rigging                Running Rigging          
Launch procedures            Docking procedures    
Close reach sail                   Broad reach sail 
Running (downwind)          Leeward (upwind)                 
Starboard/Port jibing         Starboard/Port Tack    
Skulling                                Jib Sail operation      
Tiller practice                      Safety position       

Everyone may also have the opportunity to “captain” Da Boat

If anyone needs a ride to/from Oak Hollow Marina – contact me ASAP.

Although this is a “skills” outing, there may still be an opportunity for free time.
